Trinitude Acquires Big Bottom

TrinitudeFolk/Roots band Trinitude (Merisa Donoghue, Les Tibbo, and Emily Celeste) has just picked up a fourth member, stand-up bass player Tiffany Nelson. The new configuration will be debuting locally at the Red Martini Grill, #1-75 Front St., Nanaimo, on March 20 and 21, 2009. Nelson recently relocated to Nanaimo from Prince George and previously played with a number of folk and Celtic groups. The last project she was involved in was as bass player for the North Shore Celtic Ensemble. Nelson's playing and persona brings a whole new dimension to Trinitude's performance.

"I'm really excited to have Tiffany in the band," says Emily Celeste. "There's such a rich and percussive sound present in stand-up bass that you just can't get out of any other stringed instrument." Merisa Donoghue says, "Tiffany has a really unique approach to playing that fits in so well with what we have already been doing. We also really enjoy having a new set of ears to work on arrangements with."

The new addition has given Trinitude the burst of creativity needed to return to the studio to start work on their next album. Stay current with new developments by visiting www.trinitude.ca. The shows at the Red Martini Grill start at 8 pm both nights and there is a $5 cover. For more information call Emily Celeste at 250-760-0560.
