Spirit of the Bard

Lady Smith's Little TheatreIf you're getting cabin fever with all this rotten weather we've been having, a non-stop celebration of Scotland's most famous Bard may be just what you need. 'In The Spirit of the Bard' is a fun sing-a-long stage show on January 23 and 24, 2009, at Lady Smith’s Little Theatre in Ladysmith. Robbie Burns and friends will provide you with an evening of non-stop music and comedy where a sense of humour is a must. Willie McGonigall, Scotland's worse poet, will also be on hand to add to the frivolities. It’s an evening of song and laughter that starts as soon as you enter the door. Enjoy a hearty bowl of Scotch Broth, followed by piper Jack McKinley to pipe in the haggis. Robbie himself will be on hand to address the haggis, after which you will be served a delicious roast beef supper complete with all the trimmings, a wee taste of haggis for those who so wish, followed by a serving of our own home made steamed treacle pudding and custard. Mmm, yummy!

Reservations for this fun event are a definite must and can be arranged either on the Lady Smith’s Little Theatre website or by calling tel 250-245-0658. Tickets are $30 for both supper and the show.
