Nanaimo Art Gallery Workshops
The Nanaimo Art Gallery is offering an interesting series of mid-week workshops in July. Wednesdays from 10 am to noon on July 2, 9, 16, and 23, 2008, Lynda Kirby will be teaching acrylics to teens and adult beginners. The idea is to commemorate BC landscapes in the style of famous BC artists. Wednesday afternoons from 4 pm to 6pm on July 2, 9, 16, and 23, 2008, Lori Sorensen will teach drawing for children aged 6 to 12 with the focus on Nanaimo's history in BC. Thursday mornings from 10 am to noon on July 3, 10, 17, and 24, 2008, Lee Stead will be giving clay training to teens and adult beginners. The group will make a mural commemorating all things BC. Go Green, Thursdays from 1 pm to 3pm on July 3, 10, 17, and 24, 2008, is intended for children aged 6-12. Instructor Leela Hayward will teach the basics of using natural and recyclable materials for making art projects, sculpture, lanterns, etc. All four courses cost $120, supplies included.
