Teachers Introduction to Cuba

Every summer a select delegation of Canadian teachers is welcomed to Havana and extended a rare glimpse into Cuban culture and society. They are hosted by island experts in the fields of education, art, and history. While in Cuba they are treated as honored guests.

The 2008 Teachers Introduction to Cuba Tour departs on August 2, 2008. Cuba Education Tours and its colleagues in Havana warmly invite you to join them for eight special days in Cuba. It's a rare occasion to examine Cuba's acclaimed system of free education from kindergarten through university, and much more.

As an overture of Cuba's respect for the contributions of Canadian teachers, this summer's delegation will lodge in the luxurious five star Hotel Habana Libre -- a value equal to the cost of the entire program. You'll explore Cuban society and nature. You'll imbibe in the best of Latin music and dance, visit museums and meet contemporary artists. You'll tour urban and rural communities rich in Caribbean and Afrocuban history. You'll witness many facets of the stunning cosmopolitan capitol of Havana, rustic farm villages in Pinar del Rio province, and the awe-inspiring tropical geography of Vinales Valley.

It's a program without equal. It has official support and is recognized as a professional development opportunity. Without question it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you deserve and will be eager to share with your family, colleagues, and students upon return. Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of this program is the lasting friendships established with Cubans and your travel companions.
