MGM Seashore Bed and Breakfast

MGM Seashore Bed and BreakfastFor a real Vancouver Island experience, it's hard to beat MGM Seashore Bed and Breakfast, 4950 Fillinger Cres. off Hammond Bay Road in North Nanaimo. True to it's name, MGM backs onto one of Nanaimo's most beautiful coastlines with a sweeping view of the Strait of Georgia. Marilyn and Glenn McKnight built this upscale three-story house themselves in 1997, as you'll guess from the attention to detail.

The two guest rooms on the middle floor share a common room with bar/fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, TV/VCR/DVD player, phone, fireplace, and access to a deck with an outdoor hot tub. The King Suite is suitable for families with a king-sized bed and two singles at $149 single or double (third and fourth persons $20 each). Business visitors will find the two desks and private telephone in the King Suite convenient. The Sunset Suite has direct access to the deck and a round bed – ideal for honeymooners and romantics – at $169 single or double.

There's also a Honeymoon Suite on the top floor with its jetted Jacuzzi tub, deck, and TV at $235. This unit is wheelchair accessible. All rooms at MGM have private bathrooms. Taxes are included in the rates, as is a full cooked breakfast served in the kitchen or out on the deck. Stay six nights and the seventh is free.

Other facilities include wireless internet, a computer room with highspeed internet, a games room, a seaside deck, and ample parking. Pets are not accepted. For reservations, call 250-729-7249.
