Arms and the Man

Arms and the ManAll’s fair in love and war, or is it? The Nanaimo Theatre Group is to present Arms and the Man by George Bernard Shaw, under the direction of Roger Desprez. Arms and the Man is one of Shaw’s most popular classical comedies, crackling with wit and charm as it illuminates the humour of both heroic and romantic ideals turned on their heads. Though satirizing Victorian mores and hypocrisy, the play avoids sermonizing and remains relevant today.

Arms and the Man will be on stage at The Bailey Studio, 2373 Rosstown Road, Nanaimo, from April 23 to May 10, 2008. The evening performances will be at 8 pm, with a matinee at 2 pm on May 4. Tickets are $13 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, or $15 on Friday and Saturday. Call 250-758-7224 or order online at
