Take the Jingle Pot Road exit and drive less than a kilometer west to Westwood Road. Downtown Nanaimo is easily accessible on bus No. 5 which passes near the campground hourly throughout the day (except Sunday).

The sports-minded visitor will find lots to do near Westwood Lake RV Camping and Cabins. The freshwater beaches and hiking trails of Westwood Lake are only a few minutes walk away. You can hike around the lake in an hour to an hour and a half, or scale Mount Benson in a day. Two pontoons just offshore serve swimmers. The lake is stocked with trout, and anglers can rent canoes at the campground (gas motors are not allowed on Westwood Lake). Mountain biking is also popular.

The campground has 41 RV sites starting at $32 a day for two people with partial hook up from May to September (full hook up $34). The 25 unserviced tenting sites are $26 in summer. All campsites have a picnic table and fire pit.

There are also 10 cosy cedar cabins in two rows of five at $80 double, plus $15 for linens if required. The cabins are equipped with cable TV, cooking facilities, fridge, and private bathrooms. A two-bedroom cottage near the campground entrance rents at $180 for up to four persons, plus $40 for linens if required. Reduced rates are available from October to April (open yearround). In winter you can rent a cabin at a low monthly rate. Add 14 percent tax to cabin and cottage rentals.

Shared campground facilities include a coin laundry, TV lounge, pool tables, games, wireless internet, public telephone, and parking. Pets must be kept on leash in the campground and are only allowed in one of the 10 cabins. Westwood Lake RV Camping and Cabins is heavily booked in summer, and the cabins and cottage especially should be reserved well in advance (tel. 250-753-3922).
