Gabriola Island Open Mic

At 7:30 pm on Saturday, January 12, 2008, Penny Sidor is hosting an Acoustic Open Stage at AGI Hall on Gabriola Island. AGI Hall is an aerobic 10-minute walk up the hill from the Gabriola ferry dock, on the right, at the streetlight (one of only two on Gabriola). Musicians and storytellers of all stages and styles are most welcome (signup/tuneup/warmup at 7:00 pm).

The Gabriola open mics are held regularly on the second Saturday of each month, so if you miss the January 12 session, there'll be another on February 9. There's a great community spirit to these evenings. It's hard to describe--you just have to experience it. Those who enjoy sharing music and good times will want to be there.

Seating is set up in an intimate concert style, and the fresh home baked goodies, coffee, and tea make a great addition to the evening. To cover the cost of renting the hall, admission is $4 for the general public, musicians free. For more information on the open mic, call Penny Sidor at (250) 247-7344. And if you'd like to car pool from Nanaimo, contact Paul Bezooyen at (250) 754-9896. There's often a pick up from the Gabriola ferry terminal at 7:20 pm, so ask.
