Fiddicks Farm Bed and Breakfast

Fiddicks Farm Bed and BreakfastNature lovers will enjoy staying at Fiddick's Farm Bed and Breakfast, 1431 Ivor Road, in Cedar-by-the-Sea, about 15 kilometers southeast of downtown Nanaimo. The Duke Point Ferry Terminal offers the most convenient access if arriving from the mainland as Fiddicks Farm is off the Duke Point Highway via Holden Corso Road. A detailed road map is on the Fiddick's Farm website.

The B&B section of this large three-story house has a private entrance downstairs, and the sea view from the patio and rooms is spectacular. Each of the two bedrooms, one with a queen and the other with two twins, has a small TV and a private bathroom with shower. These rooms share a coffeemaker, fridge, phone, and laundry facilities, and there's a large indoor lap pool and Jacuzzi tub adjacent to the units. The price is $90/110 single/double plus tax per room with discounts for longer stays. A cooked breakfast is included, and there's ample free parking. It's open all year.

A big advantage of Fiddick's Farm are the recreational activities nearby, including sea kayaking with Wildheart Adventures at 1560 Brebber Road just down the hill. The trailhead of the scenic Cable Bay Trail to the Dodd Narrows is just 1.5 kilometers away. It's a great experience to stay on this 30-acre working farm overlooking the Strait of Georgia.
