Michelle Barkay aka 'Gypsy Mermaid', owner/operator of the funky Mermaid’s Mug Lounge at 357 Wesley Street, also happens to be executive director of The Artcar Society of Canada. Michelle’s 1978 Volvo Bertone Turbo Coupe nicknamed 'Queen of the Ocean' (pictured here) is often seen cruising through Nanaimo’s Old City Quarter. If you own an artcar or are in the process of creating one, you’re invited to join the Society and participate in events such as the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Vancouver and the Christmas Parade in Nanaimo.
