Tuesday at Muddy Waters

One of Nanaimo’s best deals is the Tuesday Half Price Menu at Muddy Waters Pub, 1724 Stewart Avenue just south of the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Tuesdays from 11 am to 2 pm a choice of 10 plates are available at half price, including chicken strips ($4.88), prime rib kaiser ($4.62), chicken Caesar salad ($4.95), chicken Swiss burger ($4.98), breaded oysters ($4.48), and a club wrap ($4.33). The fish and chips basket is very popular at $5.13 with one piece or $6.98 with two.

The only conditions on Half Price Tuesday are that all lunches are served “as is” with no substitutions and that a beverage must be ordered. Tea and coffee are fine, and beer lovers will appreciate the drink specials (such as $3.95 for a sleeve of Muddy’s amber ale, cypress homey lager, or English pale ale). Of course, the menu varies from week to week, but it’s always a great deal.

Not only is the food and drink very good but the waterfront location right on Newcastle Island Passage is outstanding. Muddy Waters Pub is an excellent choice if you’re looking for somewhere to take out-of-town visitors as this is one of the most picturesque spots in Nanaimo. The only possible hassle are the smokers on the outside decks, so chose your table carefully. See you at Muddy Waters next Tuesday!
