New Nanaimo Ramada Inn

Ramada Inn NanaimoUntil June, 2005, the Inn on Long Lake on Island Highway North was part of the Ramada chain but it now operates independently. On March 11, 2008, a new four-story Ramada Nanaimo (tel. 250-716-2009) opened at 315 Rosehill St. corner of Terminal Avenue North, just a 15-minute walk from the Vancouver Island Conference Centre currently under construction in downtown Nanaimo.

The 65 rooms at the new Ramada Nanaimo start at $??? single or double in the low season or $??? in summer. These rooms have two queen-sized beds. The 10 larger rooms with a king-sized bed and jacuzzi cost $??? in winter or $??? in summer. Third and fourth persons pay $?? each (children under 16 are free). Breakfast is included, but the 13 percent hotel tax is extra. NOTE: Jackie of Guest Services at the Nanaimo Ramada Inn has requested that we not disclose their exact room prices. Whatever, count on paying anywhere from $110 to $170 plus tax and probably more in mid summer or if a convention is scheduled for that week.

The Ramada has an exercise room and 50-seat meeting room just off the lobby but there is no swimming pool or restaurant. However, many other restaurants are nearby and the clubs and bars downtown are within walking distance. Nanaimo's lovely waterfront is just a short downhill stroll away. Free parking is provided.
